Marbella has a very particular light. It shifts throughout the day, transforms spaces, and defines the way architecture is experienced. That relationship with Mediterranean light became the starting point for GVI Architecture when developing Armani Residences Marbella, one of the most ambitious residential projects currently underway on the Costa del Sol.
Located in the hills of Nagüeles, the development was conceived as a proposal where design, landscape, and lifestyle coexist under a single vision. Materials such as white plaster, honey-toned Saint-Maximin stone, bronze finishes, and dark wood elements were selected to interact with the natural surroundings and the intensity of Marbella’s sunlight.
The project embraces a clean and serene aesthetic, defined by horizontal volumes, open terraces, and gardens that function as natural extensions of the residences. Vegetation, cross ventilation, and interior courtyards form an essential part of the experience, creating a private and relaxed atmosphere connected to the Mediterranean landscape.

Armani Residences Marbella also brings together three distinct visions that share the same understanding of luxury: the timeless elegance of Giorgio Armani, the Mediterranean wellness and lifestyle approach promoted by Rafael Nadal — who participates as a partner in the project — and GVI’s ability to transform global concepts into livable spaces with a strong sense of identity.
“This project holds very special meaning for me. It is an opportunity to collaborate with Armani once again and to promote in Marbella a development centered around wellness, sports values, and the Mediterranean lifestyle,” said Rafael Nadal.
Meanwhile, Juan Carlos Gómez Castellanos, CEO of GVI Architecture, explains that the project was designed for people who understand luxury through experience, not solely aesthetics. “Each residence is a dialogue between the Mediterranean landscape, Marbella’s light, and the timeless elegance that defines Armani’s vision,” he says.

The central pool acts as the heart of the complex, organizing life throughout the development. From this communal space, different residential typologies branch out while maintaining architectural coherence, even as each establishes its own relationship with the surrounding landscape and views of Marbella.
From the very beginning, GVI approached the project through its creative methodology Alter Pulse, a tool developed by the firm to integrate strategy, design, and experience into a single process. Every decision — from material selection to the orientation of the architectural volumes — responds to a clear intention: generating real value through architecture.
With more than 60 years of experience, GVI has established itself as a global firm specializing in hospitality, residential, mixed-use developments, and master planning. Founded in 1963 by José Manuel Gómez Vázquez Aldana, the firm currently operates across more than 21 countries and 92 destinations, with offices in Madrid, Miami, Panama City, San Antonio, and Mexico City.
Under the leadership of Juan Carlos Gómez Castellanos, the firm has strengthened its international presence by developing projects where architecture, strategy, and design work together from the outset. Beyond Armani Residences Marbella, GVI Architecture is currently involved in international developments including the first residential tower by Roche Bobois in St. Petersburg, as well as projects for brands such as The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Aston Martin Residences.

More than simply constructing buildings, GVI approaches architecture as a tool capable of generating experiences, identity, and emotional connection. In Armani Residences Marbella, that vision takes shape through architecture that does not seek to compete with the Mediterranean landscape, but rather to coexist with it.
