After winning over wine lovers with the understated charm of its original space in Río Lerma, this wine bar expands into Polanco. It does so with the same laid-back energy—but now with a broader concept: shareable dishes, a high-fidelity sound system that transforms the night, and a wine selection that sets the mood. Welcome to SOMMA Wine Bar.

At SOMMA, there are no rules. If you know your wine, great—if not, that’s fine too. What matters is to enjoy: order a glass, let the music flow, and let the night unfold naturally. The team guides the experience with care, never pressure. The wine list, curated by sommelier Pablo Mata, features over 120 labels from around the world, with at least 20 wines available by the glass at any given time.

The kitchen, led by chef Lázaro Álvarez, brings together Mexican and Spanish flavors in a way that feels familiar and comforting. First time visiting? Start with a few favorites: the croquettes, soft on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside; the salmon, fresh and flawlessly cooked; and the French dip, a glorious sandwich worthy of all your attention.

By night, SOMMA shifts gears. DJs and vinyls take over, and the Hi-Fi sound lets the hours drift seamlessly. From Wednesday to Saturday, the mood turns electric. It’s the kind of place where you stop by for a quick glass and end up staying because it just feels right.
