EMérida’s hospitality scene continues to evolve with the arrival of CIGNO Mejorada, a new boutique hotel that offers a thoughtful interpretation of Yucatán’s cultural heritage through architecture, design, and a strong connection to place.
Located in La Mejorada, one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods, the property occupies a restored colonial mansion just minutes from landmarks such as La Plancha Park and the Museum of Yucatecan Song. The project preserves much of the building’s original character while introducing contemporary comforts, creating an experience that feels deeply rooted in its surroundings.
From the moment guests arrive, the atmosphere reflects the architectural traditions of the region. CIGNO Mejorada features 22 guest rooms arranged around a central garden. Some preserve original architectural details from the historic residence, while others include private terraces, hammocks, and plunge pools designed to embrace Mérida’s warm climate.
For larger groups and private celebrations, the property also offers La Villa, a separate five-bedroom residence that provides a more exclusive and residential experience.
Water plays a central role throughout the hotel. Guests can enjoy four swimming pools, including a main pool surrounded by tropical vegetation and a rooftop pool overlooking the city’s historic skyline—a particularly inviting setting at sunset.
