As the resort town celebrates its 60th anniversary, Vail is expanding its summer programming with a series of new experiences designed to showcase the Rocky Mountains from fresh perspectives.

Exploring the Mountains Through Food, Nature, and Adventure

Among the season’s newest offerings is Peak Indulgence, a guided Jeep excursion to Hornsilver Mountain. The experience combines panoramic views of the surrounding peaks with a gourmet picnic featuring seasonal ingredients, creating a memorable way to experience Vail’s high-altitude landscapes.

For travelers seeking a wellness-focused escape, Ride to Renewal blends cycling routes through the valley with outdoor yoga sessions and sound baths set in natural surroundings. Designed for different fitness levels, the program offers a slower and more mindful way to explore the region.

Another highlight is Seasoned by Nature, a guided hiking experience centered on the local alpine ecosystem. Along the route, participants learn about the area’s flora, fauna, and natural history before concluding the day with an outdoor picnic featuring locally sourced products.

History, Culture, and Well-Being

Vail’s summer calendar also embraces the region’s cultural and historical heritage.

Legacy, Landscapes & Spirits takes guests through some of Colorado’s most significant landmarks, including Camp Hale, the former training site of the 10th Mountain Division during World War II, and the Colorado Snowsports Museum, before concluding with a guided tasting at a local Vail whiskey distillery.

This year also marks the launch of Vail Healthspan, a new initiative developed by Vail Health that focuses on long-term wellness through personalized programs centered on movement, nutrition, sleep, and stress management.

On the cultural side, the newly opened Vail Art Studio at Ford Park welcomes resident artists throughout the season, offering workshops, demonstrations, and public programming designed to connect visitors with the region’s creative community.

Summer on the Mountain

Vail Mountain officially opens for summer activities on June 12, offering everything from hiking and mountain biking to scenic gondola rides, zip lines, ropes courses, and the resort’s popular alpine coaster.

The return of the Vail Summer Sessions will also bring a series of outdoor concerts to the base of Gondola One and other venues throughout the destination, adding a lively soundtrack to the season.

Guests holding the 2026–2027 Epic Pass will enjoy additional summer benefits, including complimentary scenic gondola rides and discounts on activities, dining, lodging, and bike rentals.

Signature Events Return

Summer in Vail is also defined by its annual calendar of events.

From June 4–7, the destination hosts the GoPro Mountain Games, a festival that combines outdoor sports competitions with live music, art installations, and community events.

From June 25 through August 6, the internationally renowned Bravo! Vail Music Festival returns with more than 60 performances and appearances by five major orchestras from around the world.

Later in the season, the Vail Dance Festival once again brings acclaimed dancers and companies to stages throughout the valley, reinforcing the destination’s reputation as a cultural hub as much as an outdoor one.

The season concludes with one of Vail’s most beloved traditions: Vail Oktoberfest. Held over two weekends in September across Vail Village and Lionshead Village, the celebration honors the town’s Bavarian heritage with German cuisine, live music, and family-friendly festivities.

Summer Experiences Beyond the Mountain

Vail’s hotels are also introducing seasonal programming designed to enhance the guest experience.

At Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail, summer highlights include tasting menus at Tavernetta Vail, mixology experiences at The Remedy, and poolside barbecues during select weekends and holiday celebrations.

Meanwhile, Montaneros and Landmark are introducing Mahjong & Mocktails, a social experience that pairs the increasingly popular game with alcohol-free cocktail creations enjoyed in shared spaces and poolside settings.

For families, Antlers at Vail is launching the School is OUT package, which includes accommodations, bicycle rentals, a customized picnic experience, and curated recommendations for exploring the area’s parks and outdoor spaces.

As Vail celebrates its 60th anniversary, the destination continues to evolve beyond its ski-town origins. Summer 2026 offers a compelling reminder that the Rocky Mountains can be experienced in countless ways—through adventure, wellness, culture, and the simple pleasure of spending time outdoors.
